Background

Degreasing

Degreasing is a pre-commissioning procedure that is designed to remove oils and light greases from the interior of a boiler/HRSG.

It is also used on piping and vessels that have an oil residue that needs to be removed. The equipment to be cleaned is filled with high quality water, then an emulsifier is added and circulated at an elevated temperature for a predetermined time. Following the predetermined time, the equipment is drained and rinsed leaving a water wet surface ready for operation.
